STATES GIVEN MORE FUNDS, SAYS AMIT SHAH

NEW DELHI, May 17: Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday tweeted that the Modi government has decided to increasing the borrowing limit of states, giving them extra resources of R 4.28 lakh crore, in addition to Rs 69,428 crore given previously.
He pointed out that Rs 46,038 crore were transferred to the states through devolution of taxes in April, given the revenue deficit grants of Rs 2390 crore and another Rs 11,000 crore as the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
In another tweet, Shah said India's health expenditure is being increase as a foresight to take India way ahead in the medical sector. There will be infectious disease hospital block in every district while lab network and surveillance will be strengthened through this increase. He said while Prime Minister Modi's leadership in handling COVID-19 has outshined several developed nations, he has resolved to prepare India for any such pandemic in the future by strengthening and revamping India's health sector.
