COVID-19: Valley records two more deaths

SRINAGAR, June 1: The number of fatalities raised up to 31 in Jammu and Kashmir after two more deaths due to Corona-Virus were recorded in Kashmir valley on Monday, official reports said.
A 45 years old man from Shopian south Kashmir and an elderly patient from Doda district were among two who died of COVID-19 in Kashmir valley.
The 45 years old deceased from Shopian south Kashmir was admitted at Sheri Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences SKIMS (Soura) on May 31 was tested positive for deadly Corona-Virus a day after his death on Sunday.
With the death of two, toll climbed to 28 in Jammu and Kashmir including 27 in Kashmir valley alone and 04 in Jammu province of the Union Territory.
Hailing from Ramnagar area in Shopian, the deceased was admitted at SKIMS as a case of Chronic Kidney Disease, End stage renal disease (ESRD) and chest infiltrates, Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Professor Dr Farooq Jan said.
He said body of the patient was kept in hospital mortuary after his death last night and his test turned positive this afternoon.
Dr Jan said the patient was suffering from acute gastroenteritis, commonly known as AGE and was in shock “as a suspected COVID-19 patient, he was shifted in ward 2A after initial stabilization before his swab sample was sent for testing”
Another patient from Doda district admitted with comorbidities of CAPD was brought dead to District Hospital Pulwama and his test turned positive after death.
Medicos treating him at DH Pulwama said the body of the deceased has been kept in hospital mortuary and will be handed over to his family soon.
