3 militants killed in Anantnag encounter

SRINAGAR, Jun 29: Three militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Runipora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
Police said identity of the three militants killed in the incident is being ascertained.
The gunfight broke out after a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Runipora.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
Meanwhile, according to news agency GNS, militants attacked with an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL)at Army Camp at Chittergam Area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam on Monday.
A senior Police officer said that militants fired UBGL on army’s 50 RR camp at Chhitergam. It fell outside the camp at a brick kiln. In this incident no loss of life or injury was reported, the officer added.
Soon after the attack whole area has been cordoned off by the forces to nab the attackers.
