ANANTNAG, June 28: National conference president, Farooq Abdullah on Sunday described the domicile law as illegal and unconstitutional saying he is not going to accept such a law.
"We are saying we are united against everything what they have done. This is illegal. This is unconstitutional. How you think i am going to accept anything that is unconstitutional," Farooq told reporters at the residence of his party leader in Kulgam.
Farooq had gone to offer his condolences to the NC leader, Majid Larmi on his mothers death.
Farooq , who was recently released from detention said that war is no solution.
"Be it India-China or India-Pakistan, the only future is the talks. War is no solution," Farooq told reporters in reply to a question about the India-China faceoff in Ladakh.
NC President also urged the people and leaders to be united for a purpose but not for the sake of elections.
"Without unity you have nothing. The time we are facing is a trial from Allah. Ask Allah don’t put us in so much of trial.
But we should not be afraid of trials. Allah might have planned something better for us,” he told reporters.
Asked about other political prisoners, Farooq said, "All prisoners are the same and there is no difference. They are all equal. I don’t differentiate between you and others. We are all one. Maintain unity for a purpose and not just for the sake of election,” he added.
However, when asked if they will approach Hurriyat for unity, Farooq described the question as silly.
"You are asking me a silly question," he told the reporter.
