Fatality rate lower than national average in 30 States/UTs

NEW DELHI, July 10: As many as 30 states and union territories have the fatality rate lower than the national average of 2.72% while the recovery rate is much better than national average of 62.42%, shows the health ministry compilation.
The states where the death rate is above average are Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal and the union territory of Andaman & Nicobar.
The states/UTs where the death rate is lower than the national average in percentage include Uttar Pradesh (2.66), Rajasthan (2.18), J&K (1.62), Punjab(2.56), Karnataka(1.56),, Haryana (1.48), Uttarakhand(1.39), Tamil Nadu (1.39), Bihar 0.82), Goa (0.42) and Ladakh (0.09).
Among 18 states and union territories reporting better recovery rate than the national average include Delhi, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Ladakh.
