JAMMU, Aug 6: Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has stated that the August 5, 2019 change in the political status of Jammu and Kashmir will be remembered as “a dark day in the history” as on this day the political rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir were suppressed and their rights snatched unconstitutionally by way of passing the laws without taking the stakeholders on board.
JKCSF Chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani issued a statement stressing upon the government to roll back its decision of August 5 2019 that acted as an onslaught on the constitutional rights, political rights, economic rights and cultural rights besides onslaught on the resources of J&K by scrapping its special status Article 370 and Article 35-A.
Wani said that people of Jammu and Kashmir irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region and religion rejected the decision of August 5 and will never compromise on the demographic change.
Wani demanded the release of political leaders, rollback of August 5 2019 orders and a fresh start of dialogue to listen to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in light of their aspirations and the historical facts.
