Youth’s lonely protest against land laws: ‘Are local youth not competent?’

JAMMU, Oct 28: A duo - local youth joined by an elderly man - started its own lonely protest soon after the introduction of the new land laws for Jammu and Kashmir. Carrying placards stating, "PM, please do amendment in JK-UT new Land Law," they expressed their resentment on Wednesday here at Press Club, Jammu against the new land laws for Jammu and Kashmir.
While talking to Kashmir Times News Service (KTNS), the youth namely Sandeep Rathore said that through this new land law any person is now able to purchase the land in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
He questioned, “Why do we need people from outside the UT for opening of industries?Is the youth of Jammu and Kashmiris not competent enough to do so? Is he not educated or talented?"
He said that government should give money or land to the people of Jammu so that they can run industry here, so that new opportunities for other youth can be created.
"If you bring laws through such way, then in coming time, you will face the anger of whole people," he warned the government.
Rathore demanded that government should immediately amend this land law and the land of Jammu should be reserved for the people of Jammu only.
It is pertinent to mention here that last year, Rathore protested for continuouslyfor 13 days for Tawi bridge.
He also warned the government that if government does not make any amendment in the law, he will sit on continuous protest.
