EC getting ready for upcoming assembly polls

NEW DELHI, Jan 12: The election Commission is gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections in four states of Assam Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and the Union Territory of Puducherry.
The Assam Assembly is completing its term in April while four other Assemblies's term is up to the month of May.
The EC started the preparations by holding an interactive meeting with Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla at the NirachanSadan here on Tuesday.
An EC press note said the meeting was primarily to discuss the requirements regarding availability of the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces during the conduct of the elections and other related matters.
