India, China vow for peace, tranquility on borders

NEW DELHI, Feb 22: A joint press release of the 10th round of Chin-India corps commander-level meeting on Saturday said both sides agreed to continue the dialogue to stabilise and control the situation and push for a mutually accepted resolution of the remaining issued "to jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas."
It said the meeting was held on the Chinese side of Moldo/Chushul and it positively appraised the smooth completion of disengagement of the frontline troops in the Pangong Lake area. It hailed it as "a significant step forward to provide a good basis for resolution of other remaining issues along the LAC (Line of Actual Control).
Both sides had candidate and in-depth exchange of views on other issues along the LAC and they agreed to follow the important consensus of their state leaders to continue their communication and dialogue.
