JAMMU, Aug 9: Dalit OBC Minority (DOM) gathered at Ambedkar Chowk Jammu to protest against the recent case of rape and murder of a 9 year old Dalit girl in Delhi and paid tributes to the victimized girl. Members of the DOM held a peaceful protest at the site by raising slogans like...Delhi Police Jawab Do, Home Minister Jawab Do, Bachiyon pe atyachar, Dalit Bachiyon par atyachar band karo band karo …. and demanded justice.

RK Kalsotra, President of DOM said that the recent case of rape on a nine-year-old Dalit girl at the national capital highlights the nature of atrocities conducted on the Dalits on a daily basis. The case highlights the inability and bias of the Delhi Police which comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Allegedly the victim's family said that the Delhi police didn't register the case immediately and delayed the case.

Kalsotra said that incidents like these make the people, especially the vulnerable sections lose faith in the administration and the police. He said that the frequency of such heinous crimes against women and children has increased in recent years, which depicts failure of the administration. He said that the culprits should be booked immediately and strictest of the strict action should be taken against them along with compensation for the victim's family.

Others who were present included Ashu Peter Mattu, Sikhander Bhagat, Sunny Khokhar, Jaswinder Singh, Manoj Kumar, Tilak Raj, Raj Kumar, Vinod Ambedker, Swarn Lal, Ramesh Kumar, Sham Sundar & others.
