NEW DELHI, Jan 19: China is constructing a bridge inside Indian border for its defence needs and yet the PM's silence is only encouraging its army for more intrusions, says former Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
He shared his fear that PM Modi may not offer to inaugurate this bridge.
NATIONALISM OR SECURITY THREAT: The Congress on Wednesday tweeted that China nears completion of a bridge on the Pangong lake near Ladakh region, easier for PLA to deploy troops towards key positions against India and asked "Is this how a nationalistic government should react."
It asked: "Is silence of PM is the new show of nationalism by keeping silence on this bridge that will help China quickly mobilise its troops?" It insisted that "PM's silence a grave national security threat."
The Congress said PM's silence on the Chinese activities is not only compromising the integrity of the country, but also demoralising the Indian soldiers. It said compare this silence of Modi with how Indira Gandhi reacted sharply in 1971 when Pakistan tried to show red eye and split that country into two.
