43 bovine animals rescued by police in Manwal Jammu

*Five different vehicles seized

JAMMU, Feb 2: In a massive drive against bovine smuggling Jammu police has seized five different vehicles thereby rescuing 43 bovine animals on the second consecutive day.
Acting tough against the menace of bovine smuggling, all the Nakas have been strengthened and beefed up. Police team in the jurisdiction of Police Post Manwal had laid Nakas at various locations, whereby dedicated police teams signalled vehicles for routine checking and 43 bovine animals were rescued and vehicles bearing Registration Nos. JK02AG 6632, JK03J 3738, JK02B 5221, JK02CS 4131 and one without Registration number have been seized.
In this regard, different cases FIR under relevant sections got registered at PS Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
The recoveries were made by SHO PS Jhajjar Kotli Inspr Devinder Singh assisted by I/C PP Manwal PSI Ayub Khan under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar.
The overall operation was done under the guidance of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma. Further investigation of the case is going on.
District Police Jammu is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace. District Police Jammu is seeking support from the people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause.
