100 grams of ganja, 145 banned drugs seized, one arrested

JAMMU, Feb 2: Jammu Police in Nowabad achieved major success by recovering 100 grams of Ganja and 145 banned psychotropic ampoules from a drug peddler.
A robust approach to break the chains of drug trafficking menace has been initiated by Jammu Police in which special nakas have been established. At one such naka dedicated police team of PS Nowabad led by SHO P/S Nowabad Inspector Rajesh Khajuria at Jewel area, police teams rounded up a suspect namely Manish Kumar Sharma S/o Kamal Kishore R/o Makhyal Marh, who turned suspicious on seeing police naka tried to flee away but overpowered by swift action of police.
On search of his belongings, 100 grams of ganja and 145 banned psychotropic ampoules i.e 70 no. of Diazepam ampoules (2 ml each), 50 no. of Promethazine ampoules (2 ml each), 25 no. of Buprenorphine ampoules (2 ml each) were recovered from him.
On this, case FIR under relevant sections got registered at PS Nowabad and accused was arrested.
Intensive questioning is going on to know about his other accomplices in the crime. The overall arrest and recoveries were made under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Swati Sharma
