RAJOURI, Oct 10: Rajouri district spokesman of Peoples Democratic Party Wednesday stated that he had been receiving life threats after voting for Urban Local Bodies (ULB) in the district.
Spokesman of PDP Tazeem Dar said this, while addressing a press conference in Rajouri Press Club. He was accompanied by PDP leader Jamsheed Chowdhary.
Addressing this press conference, Dar said that after ULB elections, he was “receiving generalised threats from different quarters.” “My party was in boycott of polls and we played no role in elections,” Dar said but added that some leaders were issuing baseless statements against him for placing candidates in elections. “We were in complete boycott of elections as it was announced and decided by our party higher command,” he further said.
Dar, however, claimed that some leaders were threatening him and they even included leaders from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). “They can kill me, damage me or assassinate my character for which I am addressing this press conference,” Dar added.
