Khanna, Lal Singh visit slain BJP leader’s family

KISHTWAR, Nov 5: Three-hour relaxation was given in curfew, which continued for the fifth consecutive day on Monday in Kishtwar town which is slowly limping back to normalcy.
In the meanwhile, BJP J&K incharge and MP Avinash Rai Khanna joined by other state party leaders, visited the bereaved families of slain party leader Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar to share their condolences. Yet another significant visitor to the bereaved families was the former minister and BJP leader Chowdhary Lal Singh. He, however, visited separately.
As the situation was returning to normalcy, the district administration relaxed curfew for three hours. First two-hour relaxation was given from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM, which was later extended by one hour i.e., 4.00 PM to 5.00 PM. The curfew was imposed following the killing of a senior BJP leader and his brother by suspected militants. However, the curfew was relaxed in the district for two hours on Saturday and four hours on Sunday.
District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana told media, “The law and order situation is normal and no untoward incident has been reported from anywhere in the district.”
In the meanwhile, the Governor Satya Pal Malik today said that those involved in the killing of BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet were identified.
Khanna, alongwith former state president & MLA Sat Sharma, state general secretary & MLA Sunil Sharma, former vice-chairman of OBC Board Rashpal Verma, state executive member Nand Kishore Sharma and Protocol Secretary Sanjay Khanna, visited the residence of Anil Parihar to console the killing of two brothers in Kishtwar town.
Khanna expressed his condolences with the members of the bereaved family and said that the loss of two lives was an irreparable and no one can bring back the souls. On coming to know that none from the administration had visited the bereaved family, Khanna took up the serious matter with the Governor on phone and only then senior officials of police and civil administration reached the house. He termed such an approach of these officials as very unfortunate and also a serious lapse too on the part of responsible administration. He asked the authorities to strengthen the security of the family and also to the local leaders of the party.
The local leaders of Kishtwar district also accompanied these visiting leaders.
Chowdhary Lal Singh added that security arrangements/bankers should be re established in the Kishtwar as it was turning sensitive on daily basis.
