Wushu medallists call on Secretary Sports Council

JAMMU, Jan 5: The International and National medalist of Wushu from J&K called on secretary Sports council Dr Naseem Chowdhary at his office.
The Wushu players has won first ever medal for the state in the 18th Asian Games held at Jakarta (Indonesia), Surya Bhanu partap singh secured the medal under the able guidance of Kuldeep Handoo. Besides Asian Games, 2 players secured 02 Bronze medals in the 9th World Cup held at Hangzhou (China) Rajinder Singh and Surya Bhanu Partap Singh secured the medals , the Indian Wushu team was headed by Kuldeep Handoo.
In the 27th Senior National Wushu championship held at Shillong, the J&K State Wushu tem remained overall 3rd in the championship with 02 Gold, 04 Silver and 04 Bronze Medals. Earlier in the Federation cup held at Punjab, the State Wushu team remained overall 2nd in the Championship with 03 Gold,05 Silver and 04 Bronze medals. Whereas in the 17th Junior National Wushu championship held at Tamil Nadu, J&K Wushu team secured 02 Silver and 03 Bronze medals in the championship.
The Secretary J&K State Sports Council Dr Naseem Chowdhary congratulated the Players and the office bearers for the excellent job at the National and International level and assured that he will provide adequate facilities in shape of infrastructure and equipments to the Wushu Sports for the better results in the forth coming international and national event.
