HM module busted; 2 held in Kathua: Police

JAMMU, Jan 7: Kathua police Monday claimed to have busted a module of Hizbul Mujahidin (HM) with the arrest of two Pulwama residents.
SSP Kathua said, “On January 5, 2019, it was learnt from reliable sources that a group of accomplices of active terrorists of banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahidin is operating in the shape of a module in Jammu and Kashmir for purchase and supply of arms and ammunition for said organization.”
“On receipt of information, a check point was laid down by police party of Police Station Lakhanpur headed by Inspector Susheel Kumar, SHO Police Station Lakhanpur near Animal Husbandry Hospital, Lakhanpur (Ravi bridge) and intercepted one truck bearing registration No JK13B-2321 coming from Punjab towards J&K. During the process, an amount of Rs 71,000 of said organization was recovered and Nissar Ahmed son of Mohammed Ramzan and Aaqib son of Abdul Hamid (driver) both residents of Chersoo, Awantipora district Pulwama have been arrested,” said SSP Kathua.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 03/2019 u/s 13 unlawful activities (Prevention Act), 120-B/RPC, 7/27 Arms Act was registered in Police Station Lakhanpur and investigation of the case started.
