Rafale documents stolen?

Dear Editor,
This refers to your report “Rafale documents stolen from Defence Ministry: A-G tells SC” (KT- March 7). My imagination fails to understand that if the Ministry of Defence can’t protect such sensitive documents concerning national security then how can they defend the country? It is a very serious affair and there should be thorough investigation. Isn’t surprise at what is happening in India? If defence documents are stolen or leaked, one can well image the level of security and intelligence in our country. It’s time to introspect, where are the loop holes? Are such things happening in other countries? If this happens it is very dangerous due to the fact that enemies are able to obtain any and possibly all of your sensitive items to gather information or harm you and your unit. It is very important to secure all your sensitive equipment and items, and maintain accountability. What we need is to push the entire file system of various ministries to be concerted on digital platform with identifiable workflows with total transparency on decisions and productivity.
