32 journalists participating in Defence Correspondents Course 2019 at Nagrota

JAMMU, Sep 8: Army Module of Defence Correspondents Course 2019 started under the aegis of White Knight Corps at Nagrota.
Thirty two journalists from pan India both from print and electronic had congregated at Mumbai for the Defense Correspondents Course organised by HQ Directorate of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence which had commenced on 26th August 2019.
Lt Col Harshwardhan Pandey, PRO Defence Tezpur is the course conducting officer. The participants of the course after the Navy, and Airforce module at Mumbai, Chandigarh and Ambala started Army module here in Nagrota and will be on a Forward Area Tour from 09 to 15 September 2019 in the area of Cross Swords and Ace of Spades Division. They will also visit hinterland area of CIF(Romeo) & CIF(Uniform).
The Chief Guests of the opening ceremony, Maj Gen DS Gill, The Chief of Staff, White Knight Corps addressed the 32 participants of the course. Senior Army officers were also present in the occasion.
Earlier, Col VS Virk of White Knight Corps delivered the opening address & PRO Defence Jammu Lt Col Devender Anand welcomed the course participants at Nagrota. PRO Defence Udhampur also interacted with the participants.
The aim of DCC is to build over time, a pool of journalists at all levels, who understand the Armed Forces and are cognizant of the domain when reporting on stories regarding the maritime environment. Later they were briefed about the function of Artillery and Army Dog Unit.
