Improper ordinance for overriding HC order by Uttarakhand govt. waiving rent-dues of former CMs gets assent of state-governor

Dear Editor,
It refers to Uttarakhand governor giving assent to improper ordinance by state-government for waiving rent-dues effective from 09.11.2000 to override High Court order of 03.05.2019 whereby the court directed former Chief Ministers to pay a total sum of rupees 2.8 crores as market rent for extended use of official bungalows.
It is unjustified to misuse legislative powers by state-governments to override court-orders of larger public-interest for benefit of privileged ones from legislature. It will be in public-interest if state High Court sue-motto takes cognizance of The Uttarakhand Former Chief Minister Facility (Residential and other facilities) Ordinance, 2019, and quash the ordinance directing state-government to proceed with recovery-proceedings from former Chief Ministers and legal heirs of ND Tiwari inheriting his assets. Or else those having moved High Court for rent-recovery from former Chief Ministers should challenge the ordinance in High Court.
It is noteworthy that even in USA, former Presidents get half of last-drawn salary as only post-retirement benefit.
