Shouldn't forget Gandhiji's gift of Ahimsa': President on R-Day eve

NEW DELHI, Jan 25 (Agencies): President Ram Nath Kovind is addressing the country on Saturday on the eve of India's 71st Republic Day.
"Legislature, Executive and Judiciary, are three organs of a State. But on the ground, the people comprise the State," Kovind said extending his warm greetings to Indians in the nation and abroad.
"Republic Day is the celebration of our democracy," he said.
He also said that Mahatma Gandhi's ideas remained relevant even today in nation-building efforts. "Should not forget Gandhiji's gift of ahimsa," he said.
"For our youth, nation always comes first. With them, we are witnessing emergence of new India," he added.
The President lauded the government's efforts and schemes. The government was concerned about the well-being of the poor, he noted.
The celebrations for Republic Day will take place on Sunday, January 26, where the country will show its military might and cultural diversity.
