FIR against banned outfits for strike calls

SRINAGAR, Feb 8: Police has registered a case against banned organisation JKLF for giving strike calls.
The cops also summoned two journalists, who had carried news about the strike call on basis of the circulated statement of the banned organization, for questioning.
“The case against banned group has been registered vide FIR number 11/2020 Under Section 10, 11, 13 (Prevention of unlawful activities),” a police official said.
The JKLF statement was carried by two news organisations and their reporters were called by police for questioning.
Both journalists were allowed to go in the evening. A delegation of journalists met a senior police officer and apprised him about the two, and maintained that they were merely reporting about a statement. The officer reportedly told them, “They have not been detained. We are inquiring from them about the statement.”
The senior police officer said that publishing of statements of banned organizations is not allowed. “Anything which will instigate the people will not be allowed to be published,” he said.
