In his address, Rajnath Singh hailed the virtues of the Unani system of Medicine and said it had been practiced for several centuries. He said, he had heard from the experts about various merits and advantages of Unani treatment for different diseases.

Dr Jitendra Singh hailed the Modi government for ensuring for AYUSH and other oriental systems of medicine the kind of respect that they deserve. He said, it was Prime Minister Narendra Modi who set up the first- ever separate Ministry of AYUSH under the Government of India and added that the name of Sripad Yesso Naik will go down in the history as the first AYUSH Minister of India.
In an era of non-communicable diseases, for disorders like Diabetes, Dr Jitendra Singh said, optimum management and strict control of parameters requires an adjuvant combination of different methods of management. He said, non-medicinal methods like Yoga have been known to reduce the requirement of Insulin dose as well as dose of Oral Antidiabetic drugs.
Dr Jitendra Singh suggested hospital based management through simultaneous multi-chamber consultation, wherein experts from Allopathy, AYUSH, Yoga and Unani could sit in the same premises and offer consultation together instead of seeing the patients separately. This, he said, could check malpractices and also avoid working at cross- purposes.
AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik presented an elaborate detail of new AYUSH hospitals and set-ups established in the last five years across the country. He also mentioned the introduction of MD Unani Medicine in Srinagar and over 50 AYUSH hospitals across the country.
