One killed, 4 injured in Pak shelling along Poonch LoC

JAMMU, Feb 15: Pakistani troops shelled a village along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Friday, killing a villager and injuring four others, according to officials.
The officials said Pakistani troops started shelling the Shahpur Qasba and Kirni villages unprovoked. In the shelling, a villager was killed.
Mohd Rashid, a local said Pakistani Army resorted to small arms firing targeting forward posts and villages along the Line of Control in Shahpur Sector of Poonch district. He said on after few days Pakistani Army once again violates cease fire and heavy shelling created a sense of insecurity among villagers. He said, in Pakistani shelling, a person of our village died on spot while three others were injured.
The eye-witnesses said many houses of the border village were damaged due to heavy shelling by Pakistani army in the area. He said all of them were going to Mosque for Friday prayers and in Pakistani firing they were injured.
Police said that at around 12.30 PM troops of Pakistan Army opened unprovoked fire on civilian areas and Indian forward posts along LOC in Shahpur Sector which continued till this evening in which a civilian lost his Life while three others were injured. Police identified the deceased as Bader Din, Son of Abdullah, resident of Shahpur.
SSP Poonch, Ramesh Kumar Angral said that a civilian lost his life while three others were injured in Pakistani shelling. He added we are shifting the injured to District hospital Poonch.
Defense PRO Col. Devinder Anand said this this evening at around 12.30 PM Pak initiated cease fire violation in Shahpur Qasba and Kirni Sector of District Poonch(J&K). Indian Army retaliated befittingly.
