SRINAGAR, Feb 23: Former minister Syed Altaf Bukhari met BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav after a party in a hotel at Gulmarg.
Reports said a friend had invited Ram Madhav for his birthday party at a hotel in Gulmarg. Apart from Madhav, various people including Syed Altaf Bukhari attended the party.
Shortly after the culmination of the party, there was a one to one meeting between Madhav and Bukhari in which current political scenario was discussed.
Besides Bukhari, a well-known hotel owner also met Ram Madhav.
Bukhari told media that it was an informal meeting. “I was invited to the party while Ram Madhav too was present there,” he added.
Pertinently, Bukhari is going to launch a political party in coming days.
Meanwhile, a former legislator Usman Majid has said he is leaving Congress to join a political party that will be headed by Altaf Bukhari.
Usman Majid said the party that is coming up in Jammu and Kashmir is not a ‘Third-Front’ but it will be a disciplined political party that will work in the interest of people.
When asked why he will leave a national party like Congress, Usman Majid said that like all other political parties, Congress too failed to deliver goods and was not able to address the grievances of people. “I have decided to leave Congress and work in the interest of people in a party that will be launched soon in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Pertinently, Usman Majid was a former government gunman who joined Congress and successfully contested assembly elections from Bandipora.
