SRINAGAR, Oct 30: An infiltration bid was foiled by the Army and Police in the Jumagund area of north Kashmir Kupwara district’s Keran sector after the killing of one militant, said police on Monday morning.

As per the news gathering agency CNS, police said that the infiltration bid was averted after the Army and Kupwara police carried out a joint operation on Sunday, resulting in the gunning down of one militant.

However, the affiliation and the identification of the slain militant were not shared by the police.

After the killing of the militant, a search operation was also intensified in the area to ensure the LoC along the Keran sector was without the presence of an enemy.
