Hamid Mir, Senior Journalist traces the genesis of recent unrest and violence in Pakistan-Administered Kashmir, related to demands by Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) on supply of subsidised wheat flour and electricity. He also traces the origin of anger among people of PAK against bureaucrats, who enjoy high perks and facilities at the cost of the State Exchequer. He demands answers to the allegations of Pakistan Federal government of India backing the recent unrest. People in border areas of PAK feel alienated in view of the exchange of firing incidents across the Line Of Control (LOC) which results in loss of life, livestock and property.
Hamid explains how people were denied compensation to displaced persons due to construction of Mangla Dam and Hydel Power Project on Jhelum river in Mirpur in 1960s after Indus Water Treaty (IWT) between India and Pakistan on sharing of river waters brokered by World Bank. People in Pakistan-Administered Kashmir want supply of electricity at cheaper rates when it is produced in hydel projects in PAK areas. The politicians do not want to talk about Gilgit-Baltistan and one former Prime Minister of PAK claimed that his signatures were forged.
