SRINAGAR: A Jammu and Kashmir Police bus allegedly hit a man identified as Ali Mohammad Joo and his daughter, residents of Nabidpora, Zadibal on the afternoon of May 30.

He and his daughter were riding a two-wheeler on the road when it was hit by a speeding police bus.

According to the family, the police vehicle hit the victims, leaving them in an injured condition and fled the scene without stopping to provide assistance.

Ali Mohammad Joo died on the spot due to the severity of his injuries while his daughter was shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. The sudden and shocking nature of the incident has sparked outrage in the community. A number of people from the locality and his family are demanding justice and calling for immediate action against those responsible.

Locals have urged authorities to launch a thorough investigation and hold the driver accountable, emphasizing that no one should be above the law. Some people present on the spot uploaded short videos of the protestors and family members on the social media.

An officer of the rank of a Superintendent of Police could be seen in the video pacifying the protestors and assuring them justice. A youth is being assured of a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) lodged with the local police station and all help to the family members.

A First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Bemina Police Station.
