NEW DELHI, Oct 30: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned the matter for November 10 relating to Mathura’s Krishna Janambhoomi land dispute.
A Bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Sudhashu Dhulia adjourned the matter.
In an earlier hearing, the Supreme Court had asked the Allahabad High Court registrar to provide details of the suit that are being dealt with in the court.
The Committee of Management Trust Shahi Masjid Idgah filed an appeal through advocate RHA Sikander, challenging the High Court order on May 26 transferring to itself all the petitions of the land dispute from the Mathura district court.
The suit filed in the Mathura court by Ranjana Agnihotri, a resident of Lucknow, sought the removal of the mosque said to have been built in 1669 on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the 13.37-acre premises of Katra Keshav Dev Temple, owned by Shri Krishna Janambhoomi.
