SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Monday expressed grief over the deaths of the district’s six workers in a road accident at Shimla.
He said the District Administration Kulgam is in touch with the Shimla Administration for transportation of the last remains of all the deceased to their native villages, a local news agency CNS has reported.
It was informed that six workers from Kulgam district died, and as many were injured in a road accident in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh today on Monday at 7.00 AM when a vehicle, they were travelling in, fell into a gorge in Sunny Kangal Kararghat.
The deceased have been identified as Fareed Ahmad Deedar, (24), Gulam Hussain Gorsi (43), Shabir Ahmad Deedar (19), Talib Hussain Tinda (23), Gulzar Ahmad Deedar (30), and Mushtaq Ahmad Dedar (30), all residents of Kulgam district.
The injured persons identified as Manzoor Ahmed son of Bashir Ahmed Denda 20, Talib Hussain son of Abdul Gani Denda, 23, both from Kulgam; Aslam son of Ismail Deeded, 24, from Anantnag and other injured are currently under treatment at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH).
Tarigami expresses grief over Shimla accident
CPI(M) senior leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has expressed deep shock and grief over the fatal road accident in Sunni area of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh in which six Kashmiri labourers died and various others were injured.
These individuals were working as labourers with a contractor.
While expressing solidarity with the bereaved, he demanded adequate compensation to the victim families and free of cost treatment to the injured.

The ANC Sr VP has earnestly impressed upon the UT administration to ensure an adequate compensation for both the affected families who lost their loved ones and the injured individuals.
The ANC extends its services as may be required by the grieving families & prays to the All Mighty for peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery for the injured.
