Live updates of processions moving towards capital city of Muzaffarabad in Pakistan Administered Kashmir from other cities on Sunday evening and night to participate in a rally on May 14, 2024 on the call given by Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee to protest against high taxes, increased cost of electricity supply and unsubsidised rations.
Live updates and videos sent by Nosheen Khawaja show the processions which were on the way to the capital city Muzaffarabad from a border town of Rawalakot, located close to Line of Control with Indian part of Kashmir and from all other cities of Pakistan Administered Kashmir.
Some other videos posted on social media mainly X (Formerly Twitter) quoting Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee claimed that Pakistani Rangers, para-military force have been taken out of Pakistan Administered Kashmir. They were called out to assist the civil administration to bring the situation under control after incidents of violence, arson and attacks on police officials on Friday and Saturday.
“The clashes spilled over into Sehnsa Kotli, where demonstrators briefly detained a police officer and an assistant commissioner in protest against what they perceived as excessive force. Both of them were released unharmed, according to police.”
